　　1971. Depuis la fin de la seconde guerre mondiale, le criminel de guerre nazi Klaus Barbie, a disparu sans laisser de trace. Condamné à mort en France par contumace pour son implication dans la mort de milliers de juifs et la torture d'autant de résistants fran?ais, il a jusqu' alors échappé à tout procès. Le jeune couple parisien formé par Serge te Beate Klarsfeld lutte déja depuis plusieurs années pour que les grands criminels nazis qui ont échappé à tout procès soient enfin jugés. Quand ils apprennent en juin 1971 l'arrêt du tribunal de Munich, qui a rouvert le dossier et conclut à un non lieu, "faute de preuves", ils décident de réagir. C'est le début d'un long combat, qui va durer plus de douze ans...

　　Based on the true story of the Klarsfelds, a Franco-German couple who devoted themselves to bringing Nazi war criminals to justice. Their pursuit of Klaus Barbie, the Butcher of Lyon, takes them to South America, where he has found refuge. After 12 years of investigations, undercover work and battles with authorities, they succeed in having him captured and brought to justice.
