Le jeune couple parisien formé par Serge te Beate Klarsfeld lutte déja depuis plusieurs années pour que les grands criminels nazis qui ont échappé à tout procès soient enfin jugés. Quand ils apprennent en juin 1971 l'arrêt du tribunal de Munich, qui a rouvert le dossier et conclut à un non lieu, "faute de preuves", ils décident de réagir. C'est le début d'un long combat, qui va durer plus de douze ans...
